Timetable

Open permanently

A triumphal arch located alongside the Via Augusta, some 20km northeast of Tarraco. Built in accordance with Lucius Licnius Sura's will and testament between 15 BC and 5 AD, it was dedicated to Emperor Augustus. With one single opening and eight fluted pilasters crowned by Corinthian capitals, holding an entablature which bears an inscription that alludes to its construction, the arch was built with stone blocks from a local quarry.
